About AI in bridge. There are AIs that absolutely destroy human players. They do not play sane systems - you end up in a place I can best describe as "optional relays" the vast majority of hands (where one player will make the cheapest bid throughout on 80% of hands, but is not forced to). They also typically ask tens of thousands of questions to there opposition along the lines of "if you held this exact hand in this spot, what would you have bid"? I do still see humans as having an edge in card play on human style auctions (as they are better at understanding and exploiting weaknesses in our bidding systems) - but on an AI auction they effectively seem psychic.

I'm retired and I have several lifetime hobbies. Among them are golf and bridge. In golf, you can hit a miraculous shot with a bad swing. In Bridge you can get a miraculous result with bad judgement. The thing that they both have in common is that you will have more long-term success in golf with a good swing and in bridge if you exercise good judgement.

On board 2, you should not bid 3NT without 3 cards in diamonds. 2 high honors doubleton is no good, because the suit is always blocked.

Hi Rob, I see some conventions use 3NT in response to jacoby 2NT to show balanced 15-17 points, and 3H for balanced 18+. Do you think this is too excessive? If so can we use 3NT to do something else? Thanks

Board 6 was pretty interesting in that you assumed West would bid a 4 card major, and they suppressed both of their 4 card majors! (I would have bid 2D on their hand too, I think I don't have a major worth introducing after the double and it's better to show diamond support)

Well done! Here's to the next win. Your videos are highly entertaining and instructive. Even though I have been playing bridge for 65 years I still often learn something new. Today it was how to play ATx opposite Qxx. My immediate instinct was lay down the ace and lead to the queen. I hadn't appreciated that holding the 10 meant that leading to the queen first was a better line. Obviously, as you have more cards in the suit the chance of dropping the bare king eventually becomes significant consideration.
